Finger Lakes Wine Country Restaurant Week – June 18th – June 24th

The first of its kind: an all-local, all-inspiring Finger Lakes Wine Country Restaurant Week celebrating the plentiful agriculture and culinary bounty of our region from June 18th – June 24th!

Here’s how it works: the participating Finger Lakes Wine Country restaurants and chefs are “challenged” to create three course prix fixe menus using 100% Finger Lakes ingredients and wines.

We are excited to share our vineyard and winegrapegrowing techniques and panoramic view of Keuka Lake with you! More information about the event is on our web site.

An article about the event in the May 25th online issue of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle describes more about our guests from Goot Essa cheese: ”A 2009 book by Liz Thorpe, The Cheese Chronicles: a Journey Through the Making and Selling of Cheese in America from Field to Farm to Table, rated Goot Essa as one of the best artisan cheeses in the nation. The creamery, whose name means “good food” in German, is run by an Amish farmer in Howard, Pa.”

I also wanted to let you know that we are featuring a limited number of picnic lunches, made fresh by Jane Russell of Around the Corner Catering in the tasting room on Saturdays and Sundays! Jane has been in the catering business for 30 years, makes the lunches fresh for us on the weekend, and uses local ingredients as much as possible in her menu (which varies seasonally). If you would like to order picnic lunches for a small group, simply contact us by Wednesday before the weekend and we’d be happy to order for you from Jane. A selection of what you might find in the tasting room will be updated on our web site.
